My dear readers! I’d like to share my impressions about a visit to the Theatre of Nations. I was able to attend the first night of «Ivanov», a new play.
It’s worth mentioning that 129 years ago this first play, written by Chekhov, was set on stage in the very same building.
The action on stage, the duration of which initially was five hours, was reduced to three hours. Besides, the play got some modern flare. It was especially interesting to watch the new interpretation.
I had a feeling that all those things really happened to people who live next to us. I hope that exactly this feature will attract young generation to the theatre.
One more time I was convinced that Mironov is as excellent as always. Victor Verzhbitskiy was one of the most authentic in the play. I think that a new life awaits this dramatic and mysterious play. And we still have a lot to learn from Anton Pavlovitch Chekhov.
